Why?

For as long as I can remember I have been drawing, painting, and creating in some way shape or form. There’s even an adorable story of my very loving and patient mother finding me in my crib as a baby joyfully painting my bedroom walls with the medium I had handy. I’ll let your mind fill in the rest of those details. Sorry Mom! Should have bought me a box of crayons. Anyways, I have always had an indescribable need to create. So much so it’s usually one of the first things I think about upon waking. When I am asked why do I always have a project or always have a pencil and sketchbook in my hand, all I can say is God. God is the master of creating, I mean just look around you and you can see that he is the absolute best artist there is. For some reason that I will be eternally grateful for, he gave me the gift of creating. It is in my very core. The amount of joy it brings just amazes me daily.

The cool thing about this ability to create is it’s an absolute act of worship to my Lord and is one of quickest ways to calm me if I am anxious, upset, sad etc. Since God blessed me with the ability to create I make sure that I use it. God does not give us gifts to be hidden or to not be used. So I have made it a mission to use this gift daily. Even if it is just to make me or my family smile. Thankfully I have upgraded in my supplies since I was a baby. I often get bored so I change mediums quite often which has given me quite a large selection of supplies. So that is why I create and why I will continue to Lord willing. Today I create my first blog post for this website and I’m quite excited to share with others what I get up to in my little creative corner. What gift have you been given? I hope you are using it today.
